Fuel Mix Disclosure

At Together Energy we offer the greenest electricity we can, at the best price we can. And we are helping our customers to tackle social and environmental challenges such as fuel poverty and climate change.

We are also offering all our customers, regardless of what tariff you are on, 100% renewable electricity for the year 01/04/2020 – 31/03/2021.

Ofgem asks that suppliers publish their Fuel Mix Disclosure for the previous year. All energy suppliers, including us, have to provide this information - on the mix of fuels we use to generate the electricity supplied to customers as well as its environmental impact.

The table below shows Together Energy’s Fuel Mix Disclosure for the period 01/04/2019 – 31/03/2020.

How the electricity gets to your door

Electricity is generated in a variety of ways such as burning coal or using gas and wind turbines. It’s fed directly into the National Grid, and then through the transmission and distribution network to your home.

It isn’t possible to trace the electricity generated from a particular renewable source right through to each individual customer - it all gets mixed up in the grid. However, for some tariffs, suppliers will own or purchase certificates, such as Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) or Guarantees of Origin (GoO) certificates to show that the amount electricity used by customers on their tariffs has been sourced from renewable sources and fed into the National Grid.

Additionality

Some tariffs offer additional benefits to the environment on top of any legal obligations the energy supplier may have, this is called 'Additionality'. However, currently no Together Energy tariff has this.
