Together Energy, is shaking up the dominance of the “big six” energy suppliers according to the latest energy snapshot report from Compare the Market, which shows they made significant customer switching gains.
The company’s ‘Green Together Fixed May 21’ tariff was ranked the third most popular UK tariff behind E.On and British Gas, gaining almost 9% of all customers switching from established providers during May.
Peter Earl, Head of Energy, at the price comparison website, Compare the Market said, “Challenger supplier Together Energy shook up the dominance of the Big Six in May, making its way onto the biggest winners list for most number of switches. The combination of high savings and green credentials of the ‘Green Together Fixed May 21’ tariff helped secure the supplier nearly 9% of switches through our website, and those that switched to it had an average saving of £373.42 – showing that going green doesn’t need to cost the earth.”
Together Energy, which offers competitively priced 100% renewable, dual energy tariffs for up to a three-year fixed term, has ambitiously grown over the past four years from a start-up to record more than 150,000 customer accounts.
Kevin Greenhorn, Together Energy’s Chief Operating Officer, and a former SSE executive said, “We are delighted to be able to offer savings to customers at such a difficult economic time. More and more people are beginning to value our social and environmental ethics as well as our money saving tariffs. Helping the people, their pockets and the planet are key to what we stand for.”
